Breakdown of talks between a public teachers’ union and the province means all Lakehead Public elementary schools will once again be closed next Wednesday and Thursday.
The province says a mediator has called for a pause in talks with the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
ETFO is one of several teachers’ unions involved in a contract dispute with the Ford Government.
Secondary Schools and the Lakehead Adult Education Centre will be open on these two days.
However, all Elementary and Secondary schools and the Adult Education Centre will be closed to students on Tuesday, February 4 due to a one-day strike by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
That strike also affects the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board’s Elementary schools, Senior Elementary schools, Secondary schools and Alternative Education programs.
