Peacefully on April 11,2026 at the age of 95, Luigina (Louisa) was called to heaven to be reunited with her husband, Eligio. Proud mother to Loris (Denise). Devoted Nonna to Mark (Evi) and Erica (Richard) Earley. Cherished Great Grandmother to Ronan, Cara, Carter and Niiko. Also survived by her sisters Antonietta and Vilma and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Letizia Martin along with her sister, Ivana.
Born in Azzano Decimo, Pordenone, Italy, she was the first-born of four sisters. This cultivated a sense of responsibility and duty that defined her future.
Louisa bravely set off to Canada on her own at the age of 22 at the invitation of her future husband, Eligio.
She was a stranger to no one. Known for her gregarious spirit she genuinely enjoyed the company of others and loved to engage in conversation.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, when family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Agnes R.C. Church, celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam. Interment will follow the reception in Mountain View Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
