KOZLOWSKI, Arno Antoni

Mr. Arno Antoni Kozlowski age 75, passed away in the early morning hours on March 16th after
a lengthy illness.

Born in Fort William (currently Thunder Bay) on June 18, 1950 he was the eldest of three
children.  He received his education locally, first at S.S.#5 School in Rosslyn Village Paipoonge,
then on to Westgate C.V.I. and finally at Confederation College.

Arno enjoyed a long career with Thunder Bay Telephone, retiring as Supervisor of Network
Engineering and Operations.

In his earlier years, Arno enjoyed camping, gardening, and fishing, particularly at Davis Point. He
was a great conversationalist and chess player, with a strong sense of humour. He was also a
Cub and Scout leader with the 1st Paipoonge group, serving as “Baloo” for many years,
including long after his own children had moved on from Scouting, always willing to both teach
and learn as much as he could. It was through his involvement in Scouts that he first met
Heather Rowe, and years later they became partners.

Arno is survived by his son Michael Kozlowski, stepsons Steven (Erika Ziraldo) Rowe and
Timothy (Heather Johnson) Rowe, his grandchildren Charlotte, Hayley, Violet, Tora, and Sibley,
sister Rosemarie (Lawrence) and other close family members, including numerous nieces and
nephews.

Arno was predeceased by his parents Antoni and Aune Kozlowski, son Matthew Kozlowski and
by his long-time partner Heather in 2013.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Thunder Bay
Regional Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Care Group who were so attentive and kind to
Arno over the past few years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder
Bay.
