A COVID-19 testing scam is making the rounds in the city.
The District Health Unit says a scammer has been phoning people and playing a pre-recorded message that says you tested positive for COVID-19.
Health officials say they never use a pre-recorded message to deliver test results or other personal information.
The Health Unit will have a staff member call you, or if you aren’t reachable by phone you may receive a home visit, letter in the mail, social media direct message, or a text asking you to call the Health Unit.
