Thunderwolves Contract Up For Vote

City Council will decide on a short-term agreement tonight involving the Fort William Gardens and the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team.

They’re being asked to approve it in principle to let City Administration proceed with the new license agreement with the team.

City Spokesperson Kelly Robertson explains it will be similar to the previous contract that let the Thunderwolves play at the Gardens, with a couple of changes.

They include online ticket sales for games, which Robertson says could mean “some obligations we need from Thunderwolves and other partners to support that.”

If it goes ahead, the agreement will last from this September until the end of next August.

Their previous contract ran for five years.

Robertson tells us it’s not certain whether any Councillors will object to the agreement.
