The Morning Show

When I was growing up we watched a lot of morning show news programs. The village I grew up in didn’t have cable, so it was whatever the antenna could pull in and mostly that was U.S. TV. It was about as relevant to us as the local radio news and, to my parents way of thinking, TV kept me more occupied and out of the way in the morning. Over the years TV morning news programming has changed quite a bit but it still holds a bit of mystery and even though we can now literally watch news 24/7, the TV Morning News program is a career goal for many newscasters. Earlier this year, Apple announced that it would be launching a TV series based on a morning news program which would see Jennifer Aniston return to the small screen in a starring role, along with Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrel. I’ve never been a big Jennifer Aniston fan (well, there WAS her role in Leprechaun that I really enjoyed), I preferred Phoebe to Rachel but the cast looks fantastic. This week Apple TV released the first trailer for the show, and though it doesn’t give too many details away it definitely has my interest piqued. Mind you, I’m not an ‘Apple Guy’ so I likely won’t end up seeing it any time soon. I’ll likely keep my streaming services to Netflix and Disney but, this could be another huge ‘TV’ hit for Carrel and Aniston.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
