Sunwing Donates Meals

Local food programs are getting meals courtesy of Sunwing.

The airline is donating all of its unused in-flight meals to 17 communities, including Thunder Bay.

It’s partnering with the food rescue organization Second Harvest to donate a total of 46,000 meals.

“During this crisis in particular, when so many people are at risk of going hungry, we can’t afford to let food go to waste,” said Lori Nikkel, CEO of Second Harvest.

Meals that will be provided through this partnership include smoked meat sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls and breakfast sandwiches.
