Shoal Lake First Nation continues to get support from unexpected places.
Yesterday, a multi-faith group was seen selling tap water at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival for a dollar a glass. It was part of a campaign launched last week called 10 days for Shoal Lake.
Meanwhile, the West Broadway Outreach Center is lobbying the federal government to help build an all-weather road to the community, which is currently land-locked.
And a fundraiser has also been launched by a Winnipeg resident to try and raise money for the so-called Freedom Road.
Winnipeg’s water comes from Shoal Lake.
