Bat Swinging Man Arrested

It doesn’t appear anyone was hurt by a man who police say was on probation, and was swinging a baseball bat on the city’s south side.

Police tell us just before midnight last night, the person was seen trying to hit passing vehicles on South May Street between Victoria Avenue and George Street.

When an officer tried to arrest him he ran off, leading police on a foot chase through the area until he was eventually captured in a laneway near Donald Street.

The 26-year-old was scheduled for a court appearance today.
