One local dirt track racing fan is hoping the sport makes a comeback now that a new track is under construction in Oliver-Paipoonge.
Richard Schutte admits it has been a long time coming.
He says they have been at it for eight years and now with new partners and a major sponsor, the project has been “reinvigorated.”
Schutte tells us they have new clay on the track and the cement barriers enclosing it are “almost completely done.”
The track is expected to be in operation for stock car racing by the spring.
