Organizers Happy With Wake The Giant Festival

Wake the Giant officials say yesterday’s music festival was a blast for Dennis Franklin Cromarty students.

Organizer Sean Spenrath says it was amazing to see them on stage taking part in the show.

“How unique of a moment is that, when the jingle dress dancers got up there,” Spenrath points out. “Or earlier in the day, when July Talk was doing their rehearsal and they had the kids up there singing, I could see one of the organizers in the back had tears in his eyes.”

At the festival, Indigenous students were also among those who signed a board with messages for what they hope to see change in Thunder Bay.

Spenrath explains that’s part of their new project called Dear Thunder Bay, which he says we can expect to hear more from in the near future.
