(nee Gascoigne)
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother on October 17th, 2025 at Southbridge Pinewood at the age of 96.
Shirley was born in Fort William July 11th, 1929. She grew up in Westfort where she met the love of her life, Alan Spicer.
Shirley was very proud of and happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her family. The kids were always welcomed home from school by the aroma of fresh home baking. She and Alan loved spending time with family at their camp at Arrow Lake.
She leaves behind her 2 daughters, Jackie Douglas (Terry) and Debbie Tomski (Ed), her son-in-law Terry Daniels, her 6 grandchildren Michael, Kelly (Jeff), Leanne (Joe), David, Sarah (Mike) and Nicole (Mike) and great grandchildren Sydney, Jake, Taite, Luke, Ruby, Wyatt, Isla and Ava. She also leaves behind her brother Gerry Gascoigne.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Alan, son Gary and youngest daughter Carol.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southbridge Pinewood for their kindness and compassion over the years. Shirley has been cremated and the family will gather for a private interment at a later date, as per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Of all the special gifts in life
however great or small,
to have you as our mom
was the greatest gift of all.
