Seth Joseph Murschitz

February 25, 1977 – September 4, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Seth Joseph Murschitz, age 48 years of Geraldton, peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Seth was born on February 25, 1977 in Brampton, Ontario to Josef and Diane (née Chilcott) Murschitz. He met his soulmate, Sarah Nelson, in 2001 while in Barrie. They were married in 2004 and built a wonderful life and family together. Seth worked in security for many years and more recently in grocery retail at NoFrills. However, his true passion was writing, and he was working towards becoming an author with his first book about to be published. Seth was also musically talented and enjoyed playing many instruments, but particularly the guitar. Above all else, family brought him the greatest joy, and spending time together with his wife and kids was what he loved the most. Seth’s big heart, and the way he could light up a room with his wit and sense of humour will always be remembered. The memories he has left us with will be held close to our hearts.

Seth will be forever missed by his beloved wife, Sarah and his children Ethan, Noah, Emersyn and Isabella; his parents Josef and Diane; sister Susanne (Sam) and brother Sean. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Bernadette; brother-in-law Jesse and sister-in-law Catherine as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Ada and Robert Robinson, and Helene and Kajetan Murschitz.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Geraldton District Hospital and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for all of the care they provided for Seth and our entire family. Your kindness and compassion was so appreciated.

Funeral Services in Celebration of Seth’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11:00am in Geraldton at Faith City Church (301 3rd Avenue SW). The interment will follow in Auden at Frank Lake Cemetery later Tuesday afternoon.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Seth to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Everest – Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.
