October 10, 1930 – March 27, 2026

Mrs. Rose Kendall (nee Bonnie), age 95 and a resident of Southbridge Pinewood Court passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026 with her daughter by her side.

Rose was born on October 10, 1930 in Fort William to Michael and Anna (nee Kwaitkoski) Bonnie. She grew up in Westfort and was a life-long resident.  She worked at the Galaxy Bowling Alley running the kitchen with her sister Millie and later, was employed for many years with MacLean Hunter and then Shaw Cable until retirement in 1995. Rose enjoyed gardening and, following her retirement, her walking group as well as travelling, especially the many trips to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed volunteering at McKellar Hospital ,Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Foundation for over 20 years. Rose was a long time member of First Church United and Broadway United Church.

She was so excited to welcome a great-grandson, Mason on December 18, 2025.

Rose is survived by her daughter Shari (Bill) Pinner, granddaughter Kelli Pinner (Aaron Bradley) and great-grandson Mason Bradley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Kendall (1996); parents Michael and Anna Bonnie; brothers Martin (Rose) Bonnie and Michael (Olive) Bonnie; sisters Millie (Cod) Gottfred, Mary (Sandy) Gottfred, Sophie (Sam) Rawlyk and Anne (Allan) Korkola and other relatives.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. At Rose’s request, a private service will be held and entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Rose to Hospice Northwest, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
