Rose Agnes Kaucharik

May 21, 1933 – October 17, 2025

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Rose Agnes Kaucharik (nee Martinuzzi), who left this world peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the age of 92. Born on May 21, 1933 in Fort William, Ontario, Rose lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose.

Rose was the proud and devoted mother of Tony (Dianne), Henry (Susan), and Samantha (Adrian) van Gorp, and a deeply loved grandmother to her many grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry (Hank) Kaucharik; her beloved daughter Patricia; her parents Marino and Anna Martinuzzi; her siblings Aldo (Vicky), John (Wanda), Mario (Patti) Martinuzzi, and Mary (Milan) Jeza, as well as her cherished little dog Missy, who brought her so much joy.

A remarkable woman of grace and strength, Rose spent many years working in the family businesses – The Venice Grill, Mario’s Bowl, Kmart, St Ann’s School as an evening custodian and the Ortona Legion – where she was known for her exceptional cooking, quick wit, and warm hospitality. Her kitchen was a place of comfort for all who entered, filled with the smells of home and the laughter of loved ones.

Rose was also a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League and a beautiful voice in the St. Agnes Church Choir, where her faith and her music touched the hearts of many. She had a sharp mind and a gentle spirit, and those who knew her will always remember her brilliance, kindness, and the quiet wisdom she shared so freely.

She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends, who were blessed to know her strength, her humour, and her unwavering love.

In keeping with Rose’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Those wishing to honour her memory may do so by making a donation to a charity of their choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.

Forever loved. Forever missed.
