November 9, 1951 – April 11, 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert John Brtko, age 64, passed on April 11, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Robert was born November 9, 1961, in Fort William, Ontario to Steve Brtko and Thelma Huskins.

Robert loved to plan dinners and parties in the building he lived in for the holidays- Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving. He was a dark roast coffee lover. He loved his dog Karmen, who he deeply cared for even while he was in the hospital, she was his main concern. Uncle Archie gave Johnny his van so they could always go out for their coffee and breakfast, grocery shopping and travel around.

Robert is lovingly remembered by uncle Jack (Merry) from Morden, Manitoba, Uncle Bruce (Brenda) from St. Catherines, Aunt Peggy (Gerard) from Edmonton, Alberta, and Uncle Archie from Thunder Bay. He is also survived by numerous cousins in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. He will be deeply missed by best friends Mogens and Lenore, who were always there for him and looked after him. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Steve Brtko and Thelma Huskins, brother Brian, Aunt Maryann, and Uncle Clifford.
