Janis Eliza Desmoulin (Bidal)

Janis Eliza Desmoulin, born on May 9, 1998, in Thunder Bay, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Janis was the beloved daughter of Gale Desmoulin and the late Dave Bidal, and a cherished sister to Dale Desmoulin (Clarissa) and by her adored nieces and nephews, Chloe, Bailey, Ava, and Brayden, whom she loved deeply.

She is also survived by her father’s side of the family, including her grandmother Dianne Everett, her aunt Renee Bidal, and her brothers Jamie and Noah of Prince George. On her mother’s side, Janis came from a large extended family and will be dearly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Janis was predeceased by her father, Dave Bidal; her maternal grandparents, Friedna Desmoulin and Frank Desmoulin; and her paternal grandfather, Gill Bidal.

Janis found her greatest joy in being an aunt—a role she embraced with deep love and pride. She shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews, and being part of their lives was one of her most meaningful accomplishments.

She will be remembered for her love of family, her warmth, and the lasting impact she had on those closest to her. Janis’ memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 12:00 p.m. at the Long Lake #58 First Nation Recreation Centre. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. in Longlac at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Hugo Tremblay. Interment will follow in the Longlac Cemetery.
