It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jaiden Aries Mishenene, age 20 years, unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Jaiden was born on March 30, 2005 in Thunder Bay and was a proud member of Mishkeegogaming First Nation. Jaiden was very artistic and crafty. She enjoyed painting and completing different projects, especially Ribbon Skirts. She loved good food and exploring different dishes to enjoy. Jaiden was proud of her son and time spent with family always made her happy. She will forever live on the hearts of those who knew her, and the memories we are left with will always be cherished.
Jaiden will be missed by her son Lakota Silar Burn Mishenene; her mother Alana Mishenene and father Scotty Shawinimash; her siblings Mosaic/Levina, Vern, Connor, Bernard, Honda, Annabelle, Thunder, Dakota, Alayna and other siblings; her Kokum Irene Spade; great aunt Gloria, great uncle Jim; aunts Morene, Chantelle, Alex, Rose and uncles Ivan, Jack, Dale and Allen; cousins Ethan, James, Mahkwah, Marc-Hayes, Rayne, Alishia, Marion, Louie, Syris, and Georgina, as well as many other extended relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her son Damien Mishenene; Shoomis Morris Mishenene, great-grandparents Louis and Marion Spade, uncles Bern Mishenene and Silas Mishenene.
A Wake for Jaiden will be held in Thunder Bay on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Jaiden will then be transported to Pickle Lake where a service will be held in the Community Hall on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm, with a Feast to follow. Cremation will take place after the services and interment will be held at a later date.
