With great sadness, Hector Frank Couch (85 years) passed away peacefully on Dec 22/2025, with Sylvia by his side, holding his hand. Born Aug 16/1940, he lived in South Gillies, Ontario. Hector went to school at Selkirk High School in Fort William.

Hector is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughter Jackie (Glenn) and son Randy (Nancy). Also brother

Hubert and sisters Maureen, Barbra, Joan and Karen, grandchildren Jason, Cory, Marissa, Miranda, Madison and Becky, and great grandchildren Whitney, Chelsea and Emily.

Hector is predeceased by his Mom and Dad, Frank & Maude Couch. Hector worked as a Lineman for

Thunder Bay Telephone and earned the title of the longest serving city employee for many years after his retirement. Hector also hauled many loads of pulp for Buchanan, McKevitt and Fortier from the bush.

Hector loved his Chili Peppers and his Vicks, and always had some on hand. He always kept busy washing vehicles, at home or at the lake.

Hector loved spending summers at Oliver Lake, travelling to visit family and adored his grandchildren Jason, Cory, Marissa, Miranda and Madison. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life with be held in the summer, the date to still be determined.
