Mr. Gerald Roderick Annala, age 70 years, resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away at the TBRHSC with family by his side on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Born on June 3, 1955, Gerald lived most of his life in Nolalu, Ontario. He was employed in the logging industry until his illness in 2010. Gerald enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, hunting and doing the daily crossword.

He is survived by his wife, Lorna Annala (Maki); children, Catherine (Roger) Lara, Kim Annala (Todd Smith), and Alison Annala (Gilles Bujold); as well as six grandchildren, Braden, Kyra, Zac, Taelynn, Preston and Isabella. He is also survived by three brothers and their families, John (Shaunna), Keith (Shannon), and Blair (Rochelle) Annala.

Gerald is predeceased by his father, Arne; mother, Eila; and brother, Donald.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of 1A at the TBRHSC for their exceptional care and compassion in Gerald’s final days.

As per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no service held at this time and interment will take place at a later date.
