The cause of a fire that destroyed a shed and heavily damaged a number of others in the Winnipeg Avenue area is not known yet by Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue.
They say they were called Monday night at around 11:30 to find several sheds and garage on fire, in a laneway between Winnipeg Avenue and North Hill Street in the north end. They quickly brought it under control, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby homes, as well as be mindful of hydro lines that were damaged.
Power was knocked out to a number of homes, and fortunately there were no injuries.
Some wooden fencing in the laneway was also damaged.
