The fate of the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital’s wooded trail system now lies in the hands of the province.
Friends of the LPH Greenspace Spokesperson Len Maki tells us city council’s recent decision to give the property a special designation limiting development won’t be official until the owner, the province, approves Thunder Bay’s official plan.
He warns this is not simply a “done deal”.
Maki wants people to advocate the provincial government that they want the former hospital lands protected from development.
