The financial picture of Thunder Bay’s police force is looking good for the 1st quarter of this year, operating in the black.
Acting Chief Sylvie Hauth says about 90% of the budget is wages and benefits, which adds pressure to keep the budget in check.
She adds due to the unpredictablity of many situations police face, such as standoffs, overtime costs can be higher.
Hauth adds a lawyer was hired to look after legal fees, which helped with the budget.
