Hike For Hospice Goes Virtual

Hospice Northwest’s annual fundraiser Hike for Hospice is making some changes.

This year, the hike will be held Sunday, September 13th as a virtual hike. You can register or donate online, and can walk wherever is most comfortable for you. The hike is usually held at Boulevard Lake, and you can still walk there if you wish.

Hike organizers will be set up at the Adelaide Monarch Butterfly garden from 10 am to 4 pm on the day of the hike to greet individual walkers. They will provide hikers with colourful ribbons to tie on the Butterfly Remembrance Wall at the Adelaide Street garden.

Hospice Northwest wants to raise $50,000 through this year’s hike, to cover the costs of assisting people at the end of life or families who have lost a loved one.

The organization is also providing signs participants can place on their lawns to show they’re taking part in the hike. Each sign has a QR code that, when scanned with a phone, links to the Hike registration page where you can sign up or make a donation to the event.
