Health Official Believes Halloween Can Be Managed

Early indications are trick or treating on Halloween night should not be affected by the pandemic.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janet DeMille believes there will be no need to cancel the event this year even with COVID-19 a factor.

DeMille says “I still we could still look at how to have Halloween but still staying safe from COVID.”

She adds they will have to give consideration as to what their recommendations will be around Halloween but thinks it can be managed.

“I really like that the large part of Halloween actually takes place outside. We’ve managed this virus very well in our area during the summer. I think it really helps to be outside (since) the virus does not transmit very well,” outdoors explains DeMille.
