Heat Warning For Thunder Bay

Prepare for another day of high temperatures for Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.

The city is under a heat warning that is also affecting Kakabeka, Atikokan, Upsala, Quetico and the Nipigon and Wawa areas.

Environment Canada says the daytime high will reach near 30 degrees and feel closer to 40.

Temperatures will cool off slightly on Monday.

Environment Canada says the health risks from extreme heat are greater for young children, pregnant people, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Environment Canada warns you to watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
