The provincial government is establishing a Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence.
Robin Martin, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, says it will provide both accountability and oversight to existing programs and services.
Martin says “with the support of the Centre of Excellence, Ontario will finally be able to standardize the quality and delivery of mental health and addictions services across the province.
She says local residents may see some differences but stresses the program will still allow for partnerships with Manitoba.
The PC’s are also announcing legislation that will make it possible to take drug companies to court over their sale of highly addicted opioids.
