Centennial Park Reinvented

The city has a bidder to re-imagine Centennial Park.

Administration has recommended that RJC Concrete & Construction Limited undertake the venture at a cost of $699,470 (inclusive of all taxes).

City staff also pushed that $65,000 be allocated for contingency if needed.

The Woodland Adventure theme park will replace the old playground that was removed in 2019.

Seven responses were received as a result of the Request for Proposals.

More on the project can be found on pages 14-29 of this document

Artists rendering of the layout of Centennial Park – provided by the city of Thunder Bay

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
