Award Possible For Courthouse Hotel

City Council is being asked to nominate the Thunder Bay Courthouse Hotel for a Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award.

City Archivist Matt Szybalski tells us they want the building recognized for the owner’s conservation efforts.

“It’s a pretty amazing building in both where it’s located and its architecture and we need to keep renovating more of these buildings to ensure they remain in our community.”

The Heritage Advisory Committee Secretary adds the building is a gem in our community and should be recognized formally.
