1990 – 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sami Roine of Kaministiquia on April 30, 2026, at the age of 35. Born in Thunder Bay in 1990, Sami grew up in Kaministiquia Ontario, where he spent his younger years tinkering with old dirt bikes and snowmobiles alongside his twin brother and younger brother. His mechanical interests continued into his teen years, shifting toward restoring and working on older vehicles. Many of his cherished summer memories were made at the family camp at Sandstone Lake. Together with his twin brother, Sami co-owned a small contracting company, completing various residential construction and renovation projects throughout the Thunder Bay area. Known to be an occasional “know it all” to his friends and family his personality left a lasting impression on their lives. Sami’s unexpected passing has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his many close friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles who loved him dearly. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Satu, and his brothers, Kyosti (his twin) and Vilho. His cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
