Hall and Oates Performance Art

Back in 1973 Hall and Oates had a big hit with their song ‘She’s Gone’ and they were invited to perform it on a local dance show. Well, sort of. They were invited to come and lip sync it on the local show which didn’t sit well with the band. Instead, they grabbed a group of friends and went to the local TV station to create a concept video (way before music videos were a regular thing). The finished piece was too weird for the show, so it didn’t air, AND the studio was so outraged by it they actually contacted the record company and threatened to have Hall & Oates banned from local radio! The band…they thought it was hilarious!

The video has been making the rounds of the internet lately, so you can check it out below. Honestly, I’ve seen weirder…

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
