City Firefighters Now Inoculated

You can add Thunder Bay firefighters to the list of emergency workers who have received the COVID vaccine.

Fire Chief Greg Hankkio tells us the ones who chose to get the shot were inoculated almost two weeks ago.

For privacy reasons the fire chief did not disclose how many of the 190 firefighters were vaccinated.

“It’s a personal choice that’s really all I can say…that’s their prerogative,” says Hankkio.

The fire chief adds “It’s good to see the vaccination process rolling out more so than it has been. I think the challenge quite frankly that still exists in Thunder Bay is the number of cases that we’re seeing.”

The firefighters join city police and paramedics as the emergency personnel in the city who have received the vaccine.
