Carousel Restoration Project Needs Final $30K

You can help restore some of the final pieces of Chippewa Park’s Carousel.

Spokesperson Donna Gilhooly tells us they have just $30,000 left to raise of the $1.4 million restoration project.

“You could buy a horse outright for $20,000 and have the right to name it or you could buy a feature of a horse, a saddle, a blanket, a jewel for as little as $50,” Gilhooly explains.

Friends of Chippewa Park have restored most of the 105-year old C.W. Parker Carousel are now just putting the finishing touches to it.

“What we have left to do is the embellishments, the mirrors, the carved dragons, the iconic scenes on the rounding boards and the carving on the chariots,” Gilhooly adds.

If you donate to the restoration project, Gilhooly says you can bring your children to the park and point out the part of the horse you helped restore.
