Hot Weather, But No Records Beaten

We’ve almost beaten some warm weather records.

Environment Canada’s Peter Kimbell tells us we’ve been well over July’s seasonal average of 17.6 degrees.

“Three degrees warmer than average, in fact, we aren’t too far off from the warmest July on record but we probably won’t beat that. The record was set back in July of 1921, and if anyone can remember that summer, it was actually warmer,” Kimbell says.

Our average temperature so far this month comes in at 20.5, and the record set back in 1921 was 20.8.

As for rain this month our normal amount is 89 millimetres and we’ve seen about 45 millimetres with most of it falling in the last week or so.
