Thunder Bay’s Carter Hutton helped to give back to some young area hockey players.
City hockey instructor Bradey Fox helped to organize a video conference on Friday between the Buffalo Sabres goalie and the youngsters who are isolated at home.
“Carter saw what we were posting on our Instagram page and basically he contacted us and asked if we had any interest in doing a little interview,” says Fox.
From there Fox says about 55 young players “spent about an hour talking about how (Hutton) got to the NHL…and then we also asked him some fun questions about playing against players like Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid.”
The local hockey instructor believes it was “really good for young players to hear what (Hutton) went through in order to get to where he is because he overcame a lot of adversity especially not being drafted and all that.”
The sessions are going to continue weekly with different star players.
Below are some of the youngsters who took part in the video session with Carter Hutton.
