Three cases of COVID-19 are being confirmed at the Lac Des Illes Mine.
The three men are part of the five cases noted yesterday associated with the mine. The remaining two positives do not live within the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s jurisdiction.
One of the men is in his 20s, another in his 30s, and the third is in his 50s. They are all self-isolating.
This brings the Thunder Bay District Health Unit to 36 confirmed cases, 13 of whom no longer test positive for COVID-19.
The mine has shut down operations as of today, and is sending workers home to self-isolate for 14 days.
