Gyms Close To Stop COVID-19 Spread

There’s a growing list of closures in Ontario and you can add Movati Fitness clubs to that list.

Movati made the call this morning with the Thunder Bay gym included in that closure.

Officials say they’ll be cancelling all of their group classes and personal training sessions and the club will be closed.

Payments will be suspended until they reopen.

Effective immediately, all GoodLife and Fit4Less locations across Canada will be closing until further notice to help protect Members and Associates from the threat of COVID-19.

This decision was based on guidance from public health experts. GoodLife and Fit4Less clubs will reopen with it is safe to do so, based on direction from local authorities.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is urging you to self-isolate for 14 days if you have been out of the country. Authorities are also urging you to get your news on COVID-19 from credible news sources and that the Health Unit will be confirming any cases which show up in the district.

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has implemented restrictions as well. Only one person is allowed to visit any patient at anytime and that person must be designated by the patient. There is also an assessment centre set up just outside the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Public and Catholic schools in Thunder Bay will be closed until at least April 5th. Confederation College and Lakehead University have suspended classes this week in order to formulate an online learning plan for students.
