Continued Funding To Battle Human Trafficking

The province is providing $20 million to battle human trafficking in Ontario.

Kristal Carlson of Thunder Bay Coalition to end Human Trafficking a says it will allow the group to continue its objective of helping victims and making sure Thunder Bay “has the support it needs to work with these survivors.”

The coalition official notes Thunder Bay is one of the top six hubs in the province for human trafficking, mostly in sex trafficking.

She says last year about 55 people received the help they needed to escape their situations.
