The Ontario Public Service Employees Union is looking to put Boots on the Ground in northwestern Ontario.

It’s the name of a peer support program available to public sector workers.

The political squabbling over who is responsible for twinning Highway 17 between Kenora and the Ontario/Manitoba boundary continues.

Kenora-Rainy River MPP and Northern Development and Mines Minister Greg Rickford is hoping to get it started this fall.

However, Kenora MP Bob Nault notes time is running out.

He says he doesn’t care who gets credit, he just wants to see work started.
