Mini-Doc Shows Thunder Bay’s Thunder Pride!

This year’s Thunder Pride Parade fell on the best weekend we’ve had in 2019 so far. The weather was perfect, and from all of the pictures and stories I have seen, the parade and celebrations were amazing. Sadly, this year was the first year that I, and my kids, have missed a Pride Parade since it’s inception and it was only two pretty sick kids with no energy that kept us away.

TVO posted a really great short documentary about Thunder Bay and Thunder Pride this week and it’s a great little history lesson. Not only does it talk about the inception of the Pride Parade here, it also explains how Thunder Bay got it’s name and was born out of Port Arthur and Fort William.

Check out the Doc below and perhaps you’ll recognize some voices/faces!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
