There appears to be two different views of city police according to the latest Citizen Satisfaction Survey.
Consultant Leisa Desmoulins notes there were different levels of police trust, depending on whether you did the online survey or were questioned in-person.
Desmoulins says “when we asked if people were treated fairly,” by police “we had a big difference between the online group who said ‘yes’ and the in-person group who did not have as good an experience.”
The city consultant adds the survey also showed young people and Indigenous residents had less trust in police as well which she believes will give authorities a good starting point from which to work from.
Desmoulins was so intrigued by the in-person results she is requesting it be tried again next year.
