Sudden Death Leads To Murder Charge

A 21 year old Aroland First Nation man is facing a murder charge in the death of another man.

OPP tell us they and Nishnawbe-Aski Police officers were called to the community in the early morning hours on Good Friday following a complaint of a fight involving a firearm.

They arrived to find a male who was seriously injured.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead by paramedics from Nakina and a second man at the scene was placed under arrest.

Charged with first degree murder is Brady Gagnon.

He remains in custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.

There is an autopsy underway in Toronto,

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
