Every year the lists of the Most Popular Baby Names pop up, but today I came across one that I find way more fetching … The Most Popular Dog Names! This list comes to us from Rover.com. The website is the world’s largest network of pet-sitters and dog-walkers. They use their database of over a million pooches to figure out which names are tops.
My dog’s name is Hogan. We named him after Hulk Hogan but, at 7.5 pounds, he doesn’t really really live up to his namesake’s stature. The website says that 81% of pet parents give their dogs nicknames, with most owners giving their dogs three or more new handles. Hogan is definitely in that category. He’s had a multitude of nicknames over the years. Probably the most prominent being “Little Poo Poo”. I think he prefers Hogan to that one. He’s also known as “Black Bart” or just “Bart” at times.
