The lawyer for a 19 year old city man facing second degree murder is in court this week discussing details of his case.
Brayden Bushby was originally charged with aggravated assault in February of 2017, after an alleged assault involving a trailer hitch against Barbara Kentner in January of that year.
His charge was upgraded after a review by the Regional Coroner’s office and the Criminal Investigations Branch of police.
Kentner passed away in July of 2017.
A preliminary hearing is taking place over the next five days in Ontario Court with Judge Frank Valente presiding.
Court will hear from witnesses and a judge will decide if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.
A photo of Barbara was placed outside of the courtroom where proceedings were taking place.
A media ban is in place covering much of what can be said about testimony in the case.
