Smoke Alarm Alerts Occupants Of Fire

A working smoke alarm is credited with getting occupants to safety following a house fire in the north end.

Thunder Bay fire crews got the call last night around 8, arriving at the 400 block of River Street. They quickly got it under control, with the kitchen taking on moderate smoke damage. No exact cause given for this.

And still no cause given after an earlier morning fire on Leslie Avenue.

Fire crews put that one out just before 9, with damage to the kitchen and basement, no one was home at the time, and no pets.
