Smoke Alarm Alerts Residents To Stubborn Fire

Took a while for Thunder Bay fire crews to battle what they’re calling a stubborn overnight house fire.

They were called to the 100 block of Audrey Avenue just after 3 this morning, by a couple who had been woken by the smoke alarm.

The couple heard a crackling sound in the ceiling.

Fire crews say it was tough to put out, with extensive damage to the whole house, but especially the roof.

The cause isn’t known yet, the dog also got out ok.
