The United Way is teaching local high school students about volunteer fundraising.
Spokesperson Sandra Albertson tells us the students raised $6,000 dollars which is being granted to two local organization.
She notes that along with learning how to fundraise, they were also taught how the money gets to charities.
“I think students come to the program without the realization of how much thought has to be put into who receives the grant,” Albertson points out.
St. John Ambulance and Magnus Theatre are benefiting from the grants. (File Photo)
