There’s less than a week left until this year’s Folklore Festival.
Organizers and performers were at the Intercity Shopping Centre on Saturday to announce the 45th annual festival and preview some of the performances that you’ll be able to see at this year’s event.

It’ll be held at the Fort William Gardens on Saturday May 5th from noon until 11 o’clock, and Sunday May 6th from noon until 7 o’clock.
This year, organizers say there will be performances from more than 20 groups and individuals.
Spokesperson Jeanetty Jumah tells us that the free activities in the Children’s Area this year will be themed around Japanese culture.
Jumah says more than 1,000 volunteers are involved in organizing and running the event.
