Woman Sentenced In Historical Sexual Assault Case

A 61-year-old Thunder Bay woman has been sentenced in connection to a historical sexual assault case.

Tarja Trochimchuk was charged a year ago with sexual exploitation, sexual assault and assault after a three-month police probe.

The local woman received a conditional sentence order of 18 months as well as six months consecutive on an assault charge.

Trochimchuk will be on probation for three years, can not own a weapon for five years and will be on the sex offender registry for ten years.

The 61-year-old saw a sexual exploitation charge withdrawn.

At the time police said it was in connection with her work as a counsellor with the Lakehead Regional Family Centre between 1992 and 1999.
