Trustees with the Lakehead Public School Board are expected to make it official this evening. They’ll be voting on the board’s so called school renewal plan.
On the north side it would see Superior Collegiate students moved to Hammarskjold High. Superior would then become an elementary school and take in the students from C.D. Howe, St. James and Vance Chapman elementary schools which will have to close.
For the south side, the plan sees Churchill High School students moving to Westgate Collegiate. Churchill would then become an elementary school taking in students from Agnew H. Johnston and Edgewater Park Schools which will also close.
